Serafina is a new 45-foot sailing yacht based in Seattle, WA available for charter with an included licensed captain and crew for a bespoke, full-service experience. But you are welcome to partake in the sailing as much as you wish, and experienced sailors are even welcome to take full control of the helm.

Meet the Crew

JB

USCG Captain

Captain John Bernard has a Master Captain License with the USCG and over 30 years experience as a sailor. He holds numerous patents for his work as an electrical engineer and inventor in Seattle and San Francisco. He has captained dozens of vessels up and down the west coast of the US as well as operated charter catamarans in Hawaii.

Owner/Crew

Matt is a technology leader by day, mariner by night. Matt has been sailing various small craft for over 20 years beginning in his teenage years on the east coast of the United States. By day he works in the software field developing autonomous vehicles.

My teenage kids and I hit the jackpot with Matt and Serafina on a June Seattle weekend. We did an overnight trip from Seattle to Poulsbo, and it was amazing. Privacy, flexibility, spectacular scenery, and very comfortable accommodations. Felt safe the entire time, with plenty of things to do onboard and on land. Highly recommended.

Where to begin? Can’t speak enough kind words about Serafina. We took a sail out for our anniversary. We chose the overnight charter, and had the most magical 24hrs, with the kindest captains. The boat is by far one of the most well designed, beautiful boats we have EVER stepped foot on. We simply can’t say enough about the boat itself and the wonderful details that make it feel a step above the rest. It’s cozy, mod, but charming as well. The captains made our trip as well, they were knowledgeable, professional, but also made us feel right at home. I could go on, but it is safe to say we will absolutely be booking more charters with Serafina. She’s a one-of-a-kind PNW experience! If you’re thinking about booking, go for it! You will be so happy you did.

The most amazing 3 hours I've spent on the Puget Sound. Initially I was going to propose on Serafina but due to bad weather, we ended up rescheduling for a post-proposal sailing experience and photo session. Matt was a wonderful host and captain. He was extremely helpful with planning and sharing information about the weather and how the boat works and what to look forward to throughout the sailing experience. My fiancé and I had a wonderful time. It was as if we were hanging out with friends. Three hours went by so fast and the views were insanely beautiful.

We booked Serafina for a photo shoot for fenders, as she’s an incredible beauty and oh so photogenic. It was a delight to work with owner Matt-he was very responsive, flexible and accommodating, which was so important for a weather-dependent outdoor shoot. Him and his crew rocked it during the shoot and we got so many incredible photos with the Seattle skyline and Mt Rainier in the background. Their custom-made spinnaker is something truly special, and we were so glad we had enough wind to feature it. We’d work with them any time again!! Two thumps up
